The City of Walterboro Finance Department has an opening for a Human Resource Specialist. Primary responsibilities are under general supervision to perform personnel and payroll functions such as maintaining proper records and reports; preparing payroll and related documents; processing insurance forms and handling retirement enrollment and records and handles all new employee orientation. Reports to the Finance Director. Minimum training and experience with a Technical College diploma in Business and Office Procedures with twelve months experience in personnel management or a related field; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Applicant must have a High School Diploma or equivalent with a valid S.C. Driver's License. Minimum salary is $13.14 per hour ($27,342.00 annually).

Park Attendant

The City of Walterboro has an opening for a Laborer/Park Attendant in the Parks Department. The successful candidate will be under general supervision and will be responsible for cutting grass, edging, weed eating, trail maintenance, removing trash, maintaining appropriate equipment, etc. Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience as a landscaper. Applicant must have a High School Diploma or equivalent with a valid South Carolina drivers license. Minimum salary is $9.51 per hour.

Public Safety Officer
P U B L I C S A F E T Y D E P A R T M E N T
The City of Walterboro has an opening for a Public Safety Officer. The successful candidate will be under close supervision to exercise responsibilities for the enforcement of state and local laws relating to public safety and welfare. Exercises independent judgement in dealing with dangerous or unusual situations. The public safety officer will work under stressful and high risk conditions. Patrols the City of Walterboro on assignment for the purpose of observing the area for criminal activity, conditions that may endanger public safety, investigates complaints, enforces laws and maintains high visibility. Must be able to maintain required level of proficiency in the use of firearms, and evasive action/driving skills. Must have a valid S. C. Driver’s License.
